out there.

You'll also hear the challenges faced by those leaning forward, without a safety net!

Who should come?
We welcome anyone who is interested in discussing real world ecological and sustainable development issues while developing new products, services and companies to address these real world issues.

Why?
You'll love it because... this is not a theoretical exercise. You'll hear from experts in the fields of interest to you and you'll see startup and leading edge companies showcasing how they're doing their part to save the planet and make a profit!

Alastair Hood

Alastair served as a mentor for a solar panel manufacturing start-up in the 2007 California Cleantech Open (www.cacleantech.com) where he advised the company on their strategic business plan and helped them create a solid, enduring and fundable roadmap and direction to enable their ideas to attain a lucrative reality.

Originally from the UK, Alastair has worked with the UK government's Department of Trade & Industry to implement their Strategic Management Program for manufacturers within the South West of England.

Alastair was one of the founding team members of a nanotechnology instrumentation and research company based in the UK. He served as Development Director and led the development of this product from the concept stage as an interesting piece of technology into a fundamental piece of scientific equipment in many nanotechnology laboratories throughout the world. Although a new and disruptive technology, these single nanoparticle analysis systems are now bringing about a revolution in the world's nanoparticle production and R&D facilities by providing scientists and engineers unprecedented views of their samples in real time. Alastair now sits on the board and is a Non-Executive Director - of Nanosight Ltd, UK (www.nanosight.co.uk).
